Jaguar->ke39 has been attacking the market just like the big cat that it's named after for the past year or so. First we saw the mighty F-Type Roadster bow in with up to 495 ponies, then we heard rumblings of a 3 Series rival, and just recently we saw the unveiling of the F-Type Coupe and the 550-horsepower F-Type R Coupe.

Now Jaguar has its sights on the recently announced Porsche 911 Targa, as it is looking into a targa version of the F-Type. According to the head of design at Jag, Ian Callum, the model is under consideration, but not official yet, and that that Jaguar needs to make certain the low-volume targa model will not drain the coffers, as only about 10 percent of its sales would be targa models.

This targa model is rumored to feature a hardtop, unlike the 911's "high-quality fabric," that will retract rearward to give the occupants a clear view of the sky.

With this information at hand, we turned to our artist to make us a rendering of what an F-Type Targa would look like. Let us know what you think about this potential model and our rendering in the comments below.

2014 Jaguar F-Type Roadster

The F-Type Roadster bowed in at the Paris Auto Show to plenty of fanfare. Not only does it boast an engine lineup that ranges from a 340-horsepower V-6 to a 495-horsepower V-8, but it also is one of the most gorgeous Jaguars of the modern era.

The F-Type roadster ca hit 60 mph in anywhere from 5.1 to 4.2 seconds, depending on which engine it has. It tops out at 161 mph with the base V-6, 171 mph with the 380-horsepower V-6 and 186 mph with the big V-8. Add to that a relatively low base price of $69,000. and I can see why it's so popular.
