Adventure lifestyle is the next big thing and automakers are capitalizing on it by rolling out accessories and equipment. This generally includes stuff like tents, and awnings that can be fixed onto your ride. But, what if you got a part of a vehicle that can be hitched to your vehicle? Confused? Well, Toyota has come up with a TRD-Sport Trailer, which is essentially a Tacoma pickup truck’s bed with all the overlanding stuff installed on it. Ridiculously good, isn’t it?

This Toyota Camping Trailer Needs To Be A Thing

This concept isn’t new, per se, but is quite exciting, nevertheless. The TRD-Sport Trailer was created for this year's online SEMA360 show and was created to be used with the Toyota pickup trucks and SUVs. The market for overlanding is growing lately, but the pandemic has pushed this popularity to a new level. This inspired Toyota to build something that comes loaded with all the equipment you’d need for a fun night in the woods.

Toyota has made use of the Tacoma’s bed as the base for the TRD-Sport Trailer. It built the TRD-Sport Trailer in collaboration with Cripwerx Engineering. The trailer rides on 17-inch TRD Pro wheels wrapped in General Grabber X3 285/70 section tires. It is finished in Tacoma’s Cement Gray color along with features decals all around. RIGID A-Series Accessory LED Lights do the duties of illuminating the surroundings. If you need low lighting, like when stargazing, you can make use of the Yakima SunBelt light strips.

The Japanese automaker has also equipped the trailer with a remote-controlled scissor-lift that raises a platform several feet out of the bed.

Apart from this, the trailer also comes with things like a custom-built toilet, a water heater, and a shower with a curtain.

The company also offers things like a generator, an Optima Yellow Top battery, a 16-gallon freshwater reservoir tank, a 15-gallon grey water holding tank, a trash can, a refrigerator, and a slide-out sink and stove. Toyota also said that despite all the equipment and features, the TRD Sport Trailer maintains a low center of gravity and a great approach angle. This camping rig is a concept for now, but I’m sure there will be a lot of Toyota owners who’d pay to get this super-versatile and utilitarian trailer that can be hitched to their rides.
