Toyota will unveil a new small SUV at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The new SUV will take its design cues from the Urban Cruiser concept unveiled at the 2006 Geneva show and will go on sale shortly after its unveiling.

The new five-door small SUV will help Toyota reach its ambitious targets. It will be based on the Japan-only Ist and will go on sale shortly after the Geneva auto show. "Toyota will import from Japan a heavily rebodied variant of the Ist," Thierry Dombreval, chief operating officer of Toyota Motor Europe, told Automotive News Europe.

Toyota also plans to launch another European model. It will be a microcar based on the IQ concept shown at September’s IAA in Frankfurt. The carmaker expects to sell about 80,000 units annually of the microcar, which launches in January 2009.
