Tracy Morgan Bought a Bugatti Veyron and it Was Crashed an Hour Later
The comedian was fine after the crash, but the same can’t be said for his just-purchased supercarby Kirby, on
Comedian Tracy Morgan was featured in yet another news-grabbing car accident. Fortunately, this accident was nowhere near as serious as his last one. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same thing for Morgan’s just-purchased Bugatti Veyron, which bore the brunt of the accident when it got clipped by a Honda CR-V in the busy streets of New York. Morgan managed to get out from the passenger side of the car, but not after he stood up from his seat and read the driver the riot act. The comedian’s fury was understandable since he had just come from actually purchasing the Veyron from Manhattan Motorcars. If we were in his shoes, we’d be pissed, too.
Tracy Morgan’s Crashed Bugatti Veyron
Tracy Morgan is a man of many talents, but no amount of talent can compensate for always being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. I’m not going to make light of this accident because of the previous one the comedian was involved in, but this episode still stings. It’s not enough that Morgan featured into another car accident; it’s that his newly purchased Bugatti Veyron was also involved in it.
According to reports, Morgan was cruising westbound on 42nd street and preparing to make a legal turn on 10th avenue when a Honda CR-V collided with him. An NYPD traffic agent happened to be on the corner of the intersection and told gossip news site TMZ that the accident wasn’t Morgan’s fault. That’s good news for the comedian, but try telling that to his $2 million Bugatti Veyron that he had just purchased 15 minutes earlier at the Manhattan Motorcars dealership minutes before it got clipped by the CR-V. 15 minutes, people.
Numerous clips and videos of the accident have already found their way on the Internet, and, as expected, Morgan was none-too-pleased about the CR-V driver’s carelessness. The comedian banged on the SUV’s window, demanding the driver get out of the car to deal with him. Fortunately, no one was injured from the incident, including Morgan, who, after he had calmed down, tweeted that he was “totally fine.”
The same, sadly, cannot be said for the Veyron, which took the brunt of the damage, specifically in the driver-side front quarter panel. That’s also from what we can only see. Since the damage is near the vicinity of the front tires, there might be some damage to the front axle, too. That’s a different set of headaches altogether. And don’t forget about the wheels, as well. If the Veyron’s front left wheel and tire got nicked, Morgan would have to replace the entire set to the tune of at least $50,000. Lord, have mercy. Hopefully, Morgan was able to sort out insurance for the Veyron before he left the dealership. That should take care of most of the costs, and since the accident is making the news, perhaps Bugatti can throw the comedian a bone, too, and fix the car for free. I don’t know if that’ll happen, but it’s something to think about.
All in all, what was supposed to be a great day for Tracy Morgan soured faster than it took him to drive his just-purchased Bugatti Veyron from the dealership to his home. But it still could’ve been worse. Morgan escaped the accident with no injuries, which is more than what any of us could say the last time he was involved in a high-profile car accident. That one took place five years ago when a Wal-Mart truck crashed into a limousine carrying Morgan, fellow comedian James “Jimmie Mack” McNair, and a few more passengers. McNair sadly lost his life because of the accident while Morgan ended up in a coma for two weeks on top of a broken leg, broken ribs, and head trauma. The comedian eventually made a full recovery, but the memory of that crash remains fresh in his mind, as it does in ours.
Imagine, then, how Morgan felt when the CR-V clipped his Veyron. It’s not as deadly of a crash, but for someone who has lived through one, it’s the last thing you want to get involved in. His Veyron will ultimately get fixed, and it should be back in tip-top shape at some point in the future. But the trauma of getting involved in another car accident? That’s a lot tougher to deal with.
No wonder he was mad. We’d be pissed, too.
