Now, Tesla release a new video, where drone footage shows off how thing are coming along at Giga Berlin

It goes over the entire production process of what it takes to build a Tesla, these are the giant presses

Several kilonewtons of pressure is applied to sheet metal that transforms it into body panels for the model Y in seconds

Here is a look at the foundry

where the base for the vehicle that houses the battery pack and the powertrain is formed

The base and those body panels are welded together in a well-choreographed affair by these KUKA robots, oh so familiar, if you've seen any episode of Mega Factories on Nat Geo

This is followed up by a series of acidic baths, primer, and the painting process

Past this point, the cars head over on the assembly line to meet with the EV drive train components in a process called the marriage

And with that, you've got a completely assembled Tesla Model Y undergoing a final inspection

You've got over 12,000 strong, Tesla employees at the Giga Berlin facility

Who will be key to produce up to 500,000 vehicles annually

It now needs to be seen how Tesla fares against the German heavyweights in the EV race on European soil
