The most powerful Mustang GT at the moment is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine delivering 412 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. However recent spy shots reveal that the company is preparing something even better: a turbocharged Mustang GT.

The spy shots reveal a car with a higher redline, a requirement for premium fuel, and a new bumper cover, but details of whether or not it will be a turbo V6 or a turbo V8 have not been leaked yet. As a reminder Ford is already offering an Ecoboost V6 engine in theF-150 that develops 365-HP and 420 pound-feet of torque, but we can;t imagine this will be the limit for this engine. So, basically we’ll just have to wait and see if this is the engine Ford will drop in the Mustang GT, or if they will prepare a turbocharged version of the 5.0 liter V8. It sounds good to us either way.

I’ll take the Mustang, in Shelby form of course. But if not, I’ll take this GT, and $28,000 in gas.

Mustang > M3.
Faster, better gas mileage, and MUCH cheaper. Looks better too. All around better car. This new turbo will be even better.

In fact an M3 is the price of a GT500 and the GT500 will kill it.

I’ll take the stang. It can beat M3 with less hp, weigh more, get better mpg, and have 25k left over.

that’s pretty impressive for the Mustang. But at the end of day, the Mustang is a Ford and the M3 is a BMW. I’ll take the BMW any day (granted money is not an object).
