So this is Subaru’s plan to promote the incredible 2015 WRX STI. It’s what appears to be a fake a trailer for a fake movie called "The Ride of Her Life," and it spends as much time promoting the WRX STI as it does telling the about of a condemned love story between a renegade and the sheriff’s daughter.

Pinch us if you’ve seen this before.

We have to give some credit to Subaru for taking this route in trying to build up the WRX STI. As far as we’re concerned, this is the one Subaru vehicle that doesn’t need any advertising. But hey, it’s Subaru’s show...or movie trailer...or whatever it is that it’s actually trying to pull off here.

We’re guessing that it’s a prelude of bigger things to come; not necessarily better, but we expect maybe a few more cheesy trailers with C-list, trying-hard-to-be-funny voice-overs.

From there, well, we have no idea what Subaru is planning with this "movie."

To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More
