You may have to pay a doozy to be able to bring a high-powered race car to the 2010 VLN season but as auto scribes would tell you, that’s the price for being competitive.

Schubert Motorsport, a German racing team, is scheduled to compete in the VLN this year and they’re shelling out over $400,000 for a BMW Z4 GT3. Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces over 480 horsepower, the BMW Z4 GT3 is a certified beast on wheels. How it fares against the competition, though, is an entirely different matter.

Nevertheless, Schubert Motorsport took their prized racer to the Nurburgring where driver Richarad Goransson took it for a flying lap around the Green Hell. The car’s not as quick off the block as the M3 GT2 but that’s more a case of following racing regulations set forth by the FIA for the GT3 classification.

Either way, check out this video as Goransson takes the Z4 GT3 out for a flying lap in Nurburgring. Then you can decide if the car is up to pace for a GT3. As far as we’re concerned, it looks like it can bust a few challenges on its own.
