With a black-and-white video that lasts less than 30 seconds, British carmaker Aston Martin->ke13 has confirmed the upcoming release of a barely road-legal version of its V12 Vantage->ke4410 called the GT3. Official specs are scheduled to drop in March at the Geneva Motor Show->ke228.

Details are scarce, but considering output for the Vantage S is rated at 565 horsepower, the GT3 is believed to eclipse the 600-pony mark. With an exterior inspired by the V12 GT3 race car->ke148, this thing means business: a deep front bumper air intake, humungous rear wing, and a wider body all appear to be part of the formula. Curb weight is expected to take a cut, with carbon fiber and aluminum replacing heavier materials throughout. A quick-shifting gearbox, louder exhaust pipes, and backside punishing suspension are all considered likely modifications to the existing V12 Vantage.

With more power and less mass, performance numbers will likely ring in at a mid-three second 0-to-60 time and a top speed deep into 200-mph territory. Production should be rather limited though, so get that checkbook warmed up. Pricing will probably run well over a quarter million dollars US.
