2010 BMW Concept Gran Coupe High Resolution Exterior

BMW has revealed today the first video of their latest concept, the Gran Coupe unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. The Concept Gran Coupe features a long wheelbase, a vaulted bonnet with forward-pointing lines, a set-back greenhouse, a flat silhouette, and a coupe-style roof line. The front section is defined by the BMW kidney grille formally separated from other BMW icons such as the headlights and air inlets. The entire rear section appears slimmer and lighter at the center, though still exuding power and dynamic performance since the volume is reinforced towards the sides.

The video is only a little over three minutes long, but the introduction is lacking. We would recommend going to the 53 second mark to see a picture of the original rendering and then moving to the one minute and thirty second mark to actually see the car being rotated on a platform.

We are hoping that the next time we hear anything about the BMW Gran Coupe concept it will include some specifications and a hint on when we could see a production model. BMW will need a car like this over in the US to quit boring us with the models currently in their lineup.

Best and almost progressive BMW I’ve seen in a very long time. It has presence and the stance of a good looking saloon car.

It’s no more ridiculous than a coupe with two rear seats and just two doors.

How is it ridiculous to have a two door coupe with 4 seats, it’s been done forever. and a Coupe is a car with two doors, not a car with a sloping roof.

That wasn’t sarcasm at all, and I definitely wasn’t using BMW’s ugliest cars to point out that BMW’s entire lineup is visually unappealing. Also, I think you’re really smart.

What’s so strange about Razorlight...it is odd that a German company would unveil a car in China to a English-Swedish indie group...but their music is solid...
