Oh boy, Red Bull->ke731 will do just about anything for a publicity stunt. The latest attraction involves a BMW M4->ke4183 going for the world record of "most donuts around another car driving on two wheels in one minute," which in this case, is a Mini Cooper.->ke629

The stunt took place in Chongquing, China on November 14th with the skillful drivers Han Yue and Zhang Shengjun at the wheels. In doing all those donuts, the pair accomplished their mission of setting a Guinness World Record.->ke1948

All those drifting donuts were an easy task for the M4. Its 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder with direct injection, variable valve timing, and twin mono-scroll turbochargers generate an impressive 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. A six-speed manual gearbox comes standard though this particular M4 is rocking the optional, seven-speed, double-clutch box.

The Mini Cooper, also a BMW product, looks largely stock, save for the livery adorning its exterior. To accomplish its two-wheeled task, the driver-side tires are filled far past their normal pressure. This increases the tire’s sidewall stiffness and ability to hold the car’s weight.

This might not be the most exciting stunt Red Bull has ever pulled off, but its still amusing to watch.

BMW M4 Coupe

The BMW M4 Coupe is all-new for 2015, replacing the old M3->ke2366 coupe, leaving the M3 to be a sedan full-time. With an inline-six under its hood, the twin-turbo M4 makes more horsepower than the M3's outgoing V-8; 425 horses to be exact. That, combined with a revised suspension setup, allows for hot cornering at blistering speeds. It also allows for donuts around Mini Coopers on two wheels.

The BMW M4 may have shrunk is size and weight, but its price is till a hefty chunk of change. Base price is listed at $65,150, but the sticker can grow to over $80,000 with options.
