Does a BMW M3 get the lead during a race against the BMW S 1000 RR just because it has an extra two wheels? BMW Motorrad chose to tackle that question with a duel of sorts between Rico’s two-wheeled motorcycle and Nico’s luxury four-wheeled sports car.

Anyone prepared to watch the video should probably know that the 999 cc four cylinder inline engine found in the S 1000 RR and the 4.0 L V8 sitting snug in the BMW M3 were both given a proper tuning upgrade that added a new Akrapovnic exhaust system. This new exhaust provided both machines with a few extra HP. Another thing to know before watching is that each vehicle started the race on the opposite side of the other, hence the title, The Chase.

Any guesses on which beast caught up to the other? Watch the video to see for yourself.

I both agree with you guys. I’ve watched a lot of race like this, and the same thing happen. The motorbike wins. In my opinion, the weight is the main reason here and also the drifting. It is easier to drift a light-weight bike than a heavy car.

Yeah, I have seen other race like this and same thing happen.. the motorbike win. Well, it seems that the weight has something to do with this.

This is not the first time I have seen a race between a bike and car. Coincidentally, the motorbike always win. I don’t want to think that it has something to do with the weight of the vehicle.

Well, this one is certainly a good example of how great BMW’s cars. Imagine that, both cars actually performed rather superbly, which is a good indicator.

Now I am starting to like the RR. I admit that I really wasn’t that fond of the car before. But seeing this, I was actually surprised that it has a lot of oomph in it.

Well, the RR itself is a great car in its own right. However, it would still come short w3hen it competed against the M3. But it did have a fair chance.

Hmm, this one really makes it even harder to choose. But for most part, I would probably go with the M3. That car really has a lot more features and capabilities.

Now this one is quite interesting. Most of the match-ups that I have seen are of different brands going head to head against each other. This is the first time I saw two cars of the same brand going against each other.

hmm. I still don’t think that the race was fair although both the engine of these two vehicle was tune up. Looking at their weight, the RR is lighter than the M3. So basically, the bike would win over the car. I’m still not convenience in the fairness of the race.

Wow! It feels like watching action film and the scene was the climax of the movie wherein the main character needs to chase the villain!Well, it seems that a four-wheeled vehicle can’t win over the two-wheeled. I have seen that the engine of these two vehicle is quite impressive and it doesn’t have any trouble gearing up.
