The seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette->ke4579 will make its official debut on January 13, 2013 at the Detroit Auto Show. Unfortunately, all Chevrolet->ke199 has unveiled until now are three teaser videos that show almost nothing from the Chevrolet's challenger to the new SRT Viper. Today however, we have a video for you that presents the building process of the car's new LT1 6.2L small block engine.

The new LT1 Gen V engine delivers at least 450 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 450 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. This represents a minimum of a 20-horsepower increase over the previous 6.2-liter V-8. Additionally, Chevrolet announced an impressive fuel economy of 26 mpg for the 2014 'Vette.

The new engine will be built by Darryl Johnson and the workers at the Tonawanda (NY) Engine Plant. It is here where Chevrolet made a $425 million investment and created over 700 new or retained jobs.
