Video: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 commercial

General Motors has unveiled a new commercial for the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The commercial is only about 45 seconds long, but it does start off a bit slow. That being said, the last ten seconds is absolutely worth it as Chevrolet showcases the revving, exhilarating power of the Corvette ZR1.

For 2011, the ZR1 will be offered with two new exterior colors: Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue. These colors will come with contrasting-color headlamps, an interior custom color stitching, and USB port and input jack included with navigation radio. Under the hood there is the same LS9 supercharged 6.2 liter V-8 engine rated at 638 HP and 604 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is backed by an upgraded, stronger six-speed manual transmission and a twin-disc clutch that provide exceptional clamping power. With a curb weight of 3,333 pounds, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 3.4 seconds and can hit a top speed of 205 mph.

This from the guy who said Toyota was going to bring their supercar to the N-ring two days ago. I have news for you, the LF-A isn’t any more real than the Volt.

Great review, i could have done without the vaporware name dropping, as it’s not in production and has no relation to the ZR1 and CTS-V, and it’d be nice to have you guys begin actually mentioning the other cars you’ve driving in comparison, like the big boys do, but a great review and great continued maturation for TopSpeed.

Awesome commercial. Because of the music, I wasn’t expecting the powerslide. Lol

probably one of the best Corvette commercials I’ve seen in a long time (come to think of it, this might be like... one of the first I’ve actually seen lol) Now for the Camaro!!

After testing it, I think it’s a great car but I still prefer a GTR. smiley

1. I know that the Challenger doesn’t compete in the same class as the Vette; that’s obvious. I put it in that list because the Challenger is typically thought of as an unreliable car, and even it is rated more dependable than the Vette by Consumer Reports.

2. The Viper isn’t in production any more.

They copied Dodge’s commercials, and the Viper offers more bang-for-the-buck (<$100k cars). Uncia knows nothing about cars Challenger=Muscle Car, Corvette+Sports/Super Car. you can’t put the Chally in that list, although it would kick a vette’s you-know-whats on track.

@aPACKofWEASELS you should pick up an issue of Consumer Reports some time. Just because it will last longer than a Lambo or GT-R doesn’t mean it’s a reliable car; the Vette receives the lowest possible dependability marks, and is far from being the "most reliable sports car ever." The Lexus LFA, every 911 model, the Cayman, every Lotus, the DB9, and even the Challenger are all rated as being significantly more reliable than the ZR1. Like I said, it offers great bang-for-the-buck, and if I had to judge $100K sports cars, I’d go for the ZR1 without question; Nurburgring in 7:26 for that price is pretty hard to beat. But the fact of the matter is that while it may be a great value, it isn’t flawless, and its chief flaw is dependability.

It’s so refreshing every now and then to see a commercial that doesn’t remind you how companies are downsizing and making their cars more fuel efficient. It’s nice to be reminded that companies are still building balls-out sports cars amidst all this green movement business.

yeah, impressive ZR1 but still you cannot enjoy the road trip with your friend.

Honestly Uncia? You never seem to cease amazing me with your ignorance. The Corvette will outlast a Ferrari, Lamborghini, GTR, etc. 3 to 1.

Most reliable sports car ever.

It may not be the most reliable car around, but the bang-for-the-buck of this Vette is unparalleled.
