Hey, Chevy->ke199 - yeah, that was intentional - look at the mess you found yourself in. You know all of this could have been avoided if you had just not messed with a good thing. And now your grasping at straws trying to explain the maelstrom of controversy you've found yourself in because of your apparent love/hate relationship with the nickname America has given you.

First, you say that you're not to fond of the 'Chevy' nickname for your Chevrolet brand. And now that the media is all over you for turning your back on the nickname, you make an about-face and say that you love the name, explaining that you're just looking for "branding consistency" when it comes to using the name 'Chevrolet' on your cars.

Now, you have Alan Batey, your own sales vice president, releasing a video in an attempt to quell the furor you've caused. Batey comes out and says that although the brand loves the 'Chevy' nickname, you're just avoiding any confusion as to whether or not 'Chevrolet' and 'Chevy' are the same brands since the brand is becoming more aggressive in their global sales. As far as we're concerned, while it may have been a rash reaction on some fronts, we still think that you could have saved yourselves a lot of trouble by just letting things stand because, believe it or not, we know the difference between 'Chevrolet' and 'Chevy' in that there's no difference at all.
