British auto journalist Chris Harris’ new YouTube channel, Chris Harris On Cars, got off to a roaring debut after he successfully booked one of the world’s most exotic vehicles as one of his first guests. Okay, the show doesn’t follow the same formula as a typical talk show, but if the automotive equivalent of a “first guest” is the 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari, then none of us can really have any qualms about it.

This episode of Chris Harris On Cars is all about the LaFerrari. Harris first takes the supercar->ke177 on a public road and in between describing the car’s interior creature comforts and struggling to keep it from oversteering, he had that look of a man who couldn’t believe that he was actually driving the LaFerrari. After his road excursion with the Ferrari hybrid->ke147 supercar, Harris then takes the car to its natural habitat: the race track. In this instance, he didn’t have to go too far to find one as Ferrari’s->ke252 famed Fiorano track welcomed him with open arms.

Harris’ run at Fiorano with the LaFerrari was nothing short of extraordinary. Going full throttle on a LaFerrari at Fiorano with Ferrari’s blessing is usually an invitation to go hard on the car. That’s exactly what Harris did, much to the envy of just about everybody who watches this episode.

For somebody who’s spent time in all three hybrid supercars, Harris’ voice resonates when the conversation starts on how the LaFerrari stacks up against the Porsche 918 Spyder and the McLaren P1. So for him to call the LaFerrari and the P1 as the two that are in a class of their own, it’s a testament to the kind of hybrid supercar Ferrari has created.
