Our friend Gregg at WreckedExotics, just sent us some pictures and a video taken on the set of a video commercial where a Pontiac GTO is wrecked whole landing in the street of San Francisco... Bullit style!

We have no idea yet who is behind all this but the poor GTO certainly made its last jump. The video shows how both stunt men can barely control their car after the landing. Let’s just hope it is not a Prius commercial showing the death of the V8!

I’ve seen the footage of this jump used in a promo for Channel 4 / Film 4 in the UK. They just play the jump in slow motion while introducing the next movie. Terrible waste of what looks like two reasonable condition classics. Personally I think destroying cars like this should be banned! They’ve had their days of being smashed up in the ’70’s and now they’re pieces of history that are becoming increasingly rare.

That definitely caused some big time damage on the cars front. Maybe some problems with suspension, engine, bumper, etc. it sure looked like a good jump but the landing wasn’t so good. What a way to end a cars life eh, but, I think it can be revived with a few fix and tricks here and there. Nothing that a good tuner or restorer can handle.

I never belived that is so difficult to control a car after a jump like that.

It is interesting to see that to make those amazing jump they need a take off ramp, because even with San Francisco street you cannot make jumps like that... Really scary how tough the landing seems to be.

Anybody got idea about who could sponsor this GTO massacre smiley ?
