The highly-anticipated ceremonial opening of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has finally come.

With a lavish opening ceremony befitting Ferrari’s standing as one of the world’s premier automakers, the Italian brand spared no expense in organizing the festivities. Attended by over two thousand guests including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Italy’s foreign minister Franco Frattini and Ferrari Formula One drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, the ceremony included an extravagant show chronicling the automaker’s rich automotive and racing history.

Located at the heart of Yas Island, a ten-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport and about an hour away from the Yas Marina Circuit, Ferrari World is shaping up to become one of Abu Dhabi’s – and the entire UAE for that matter – premier destinations, an impressive feat considering the growing number of tourist destinations in the country.

One of the theme park’s main attractions is the ‘Formula Rossa’, considered to be the world’s fastest rollercoaster capable of traveling at speeds in excess of 150 mph.

And now that Ferrari World is officially open at full capacity, you can expect the tourists from all corners of the world to come in droves to Abu Dhabi.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Hell, this theme- park is kind of interesting vehicle. It seems that the Ferrari has spent million dollar to give tribute to the legendary formula Rossa.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has the coolest race track that have been ever built. I have seen in the video here at TopSpeed the test driving and how flexible is the tack with each drift of the car.

Lets just hope they didn’t use the same glue they used for the 458 Italia. Fire!

Abu Dhabi is really honored to feature Ferrari World! I know it’ll become one of the top tourist car fanatics destination in the world. The park has the world’s fastest roller coaster, and I am sure people will enjoy riding with this one. I know this it’s a one of a kind experience ride. I should start saving my money and consider this theme park on my list of travel destination for 2011.

Amazing! In a region of the world broken by political instability, unimaginable disparities in income and wealth, and a form of government that boils down to who can complain faster to the local moftee...Ferrari has found a spiritual home! As exquisite as Ferrari’s are....a business is a business. Right Enzo!

And I’m guessing the engine "spark on fire" because of the bosses choices to have more-and-more torque, hp, etc. regardless of safety. I cannot imagine of paying $200.000 and to get the car on fire. It shouldn’t have this problem no matter what I do, no matter how stupid driver I am, the car should be all about me.

Looking forward to Porsche ass-kicking Ferrari, anytime-anyplace smiley

Ferrari is what it wants to be, a group of spoiled arrogant men, that use some of the best engineers in the world to squeeze rich people pockets. Probably they do them in red because the red color blends perfectly with the orange color of the flames... from the literally burning engine.

I wonder how fast the GTS is around the ’track’ as compared to the normal M3.

I would go to Ferrari World if everything was totally FREE! Simply because of it’s location.... This should have been built in Italy and only Italy.... I predict that Ferrari would will be closed sooner than later...
