When Chevrolet announced the seventh-generation Corvette, it also announced an estimated top speed of 180 to 190 mph, which is light years behind the 200 mph barrier that separates supercars from sports cars. However, with the upgrades announced by Hennessey->ke1863 Performance, the HPE700 Corvette was able to hit a supercar->ke177-like 200.6 mph.

This amazing speed was hit on the Texas State Highway 99 and was witnessed by officials from TxDOT, Texas DPS and TransCore.

The HPE700 kit announced by Hennessey adds a TVS2300 supercharger system and Hennessey’s in-house HPE Air Induction System, engine calibration and CNC-ported heads for free-flowing air and exhaust. As a result, the car's standard 460 horsepower is increased to an incredible 700 horsepower at 6,300 rpm.

With the extra 240 horsepower it was pretty easy for the Stingray to score such a great result. Check out the above video to see this monster Corvette in action.
