John Hennessey is an authority in the aftermarket scene. He can take one look at a car and he already knows what he needs to do to turn it into a full-fledged tuning monster. Recently, Hennessey got the chance to take a stock 2015 Ford Mustang for a test run to see how the car handles and, more importantly, to determine what his tuning company needs to do to create his tuning program for the Mustang.->ke428

Call it an exploratory drive of sorts, but it's something Hennessey traditionally does with a car that his company is creating a program for. Remember, we already saw a preview of this program back in October 2014 when Hennessey released a few renderings of the Mustang HPE700.

When Hennessey said that he plans to add a “a couple of hundred more horsepower” to the Mustang, he actually means giving the muscle car->ke507 an insane 717 horsepower and 632 pound-feet of torque. It was also a little funny hearing Hennessey lament how long it took for the stock Mustang to go from 140 mph to 150 mph.

Something tells me he won’t have that same problem once his team is finished putting the final touches on its new program for the Mustang. With an expected 0-to-60-mph time of just 3.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11.2 seconds, John Hennessey won’t have to wait too long for the HPE700-equipped Mustang to reach 150 mph.
