The 2015 Ford Mustang is barely even out and the aftermarket crowd is already abuzz with parts galore. Here’s one of the first exhaust upgrades we’ve seen, and it’s from the Mustang->ke428 lovers at Roush. The short video->ke278 is sure to bring goose bumps and standing hairs to those gear heads who believe there’s no replacement for displacement.

Roush->ke1434 is quick to point out this exhaust upgrade only changes things from the axle rearward. Everything forward up to the 5.0-liter V-8’s aluminum heads is completely stock. What Roush did add was a pair of angry-sounding mufflers and chrome tips.

The change is enough to frighten small children and livestock from miles away. The low, baritone growl at idle is reminiscent of those big-block muscle cars->ke507 from the late 1960s. It’s a sound no four-banger or digital sound synthesizer could duplicate.

Now all the credit can’t go directly to Roush. Ford historically does a great job at making V-8s sound good. The current 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 sounds great right off the showroom floor, making 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

It won’t be long until there’s a plethora of aftermarket exhaust parts for the new 2015 Mustang, but until then, Roush seems to have the situation covered.
