Hennessey's Ford GT didn't get to enjoy its supremacy at the Texas Mile->ke3802 for too awful long. Back in March, it hit a blistering top speed of 267.6 mph at the biannual event in Corpus Christi, Texas. Now it looks as if that record has already been broken.

We cannot confirm that this is an official record just yet, but the above video show a Ford GT->ke411 prepared by M2K Motorsports hitting a top speed of 278.2 mph. It looks like the new record was confirmed on the Official Texas Mile Facebook Page, so it is well on its way of becoming official.

We have a few details on this Ford GT->ke411 prepared by M2K Motorsports, but it looks like it delivers somewhere in the 2,000 horsepower area, so it's no surprise that it cranked out this outrageous top speed.

Check out the above video to see this monster Ford GT hit 278 mph.
