In the latest episode of Drive, Matt Farah got behind the wheel of a Mercedes E63 AMG. This is not your run-of-the-mill E63 AMG, but rather it is tuned by Weistec Engineering and boast an output of 850 horsepower.
Weistec Engineering updated the E63 AMG with the addition of a new turbo system and a new exhaust system with freer-flowing down pipes. The tuner continued with remapping the ECU, adding new air filters and revising cooling system. There are also new, stronger CV axles that are responsible for transferring torque and power from the differential to the wheels in a vehicle with independent suspension.
What’s really cool is that the tuner considers it can easily upgrade the E63 AMG to deliver an astonishing 1,000 horsepower! We’re sure Matt will get a crack at that tune too, at some point.
Check out the video to see how the extra 300 ponies improved the E63 AMG’s performance figures.
