Now that more and more McLaren P1s->ke4608 have reached their customers, it's no longer surprising to see the British supercar->ke177 being put through its paces on tracks all over the world. We've already seen it taking some fast laps on the Silverstone and the Spa-Francorchamps in recent months, but time has come to follow the P1 as it roars its turbocharged V-8 engine on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,->ke981 one of America's greatest race courses.

Unlike other track videos, this footage actually shows the P1 running seven laps, more than half the 13 laps it did during the Summer Speed event held at Laguna Seca on September 20, 2014. In case you're wondering, the P1 manages to lap the Laguna Seca in less than 1:50 minutes, with its fastest lap stopping the clock at 1:45.11. Not exactly impressive if you ask me, considering a McLaren MP4-12C->ke3514 needed only 1:34.50 minutes for the same benchmark. What's more, the supercar was slower than vehicles such as the 2007 BMW M3, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V or even the 1966 Shelby Cobra 427.

Of course, the video->ke278 is a clear indication that the driver wasn't aiming for record laps, but being more 10 seconds slower than a MP4-12C while driving a P1 isn't something you can be proud of. That's not to say the eight-minute footage is less enticing. On the contrary, hearing the P1 making noise on the Laguna Seca is a spectacle you can not miss if you're a supercar fanatic.
