Other than the game itself and all those high-priced commercials, Super Bowl Sunday is also a highly anticipated day in Hollywood circles because it’s the day when new trailers of upcoming blockbuster movies are shown.

This year was no different and we got a good glimpse of a number of movies set to hit cinemas this coming summer. While we’d love to run down all of them - we’re big cinema buffs too, in case you didn’t know - this space is reserved for only one new trailer that made its debut during the Super Bowl.

Fast 5, baby.

Technically, this is the second trailer of the fifth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, one that doesn’t seem to differentiate itself greatly from the last version that came out a few months ago. Then again, it’s always a treat watching snippets of what cars we can expect to see when the movie hits theaters on April 29.

Quite frankly, we’re not expecting a lot from this movie, let alone Oscar-level performances from the actors. But as is the case with this franchise, it’s not so much about Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, or Jordana Brewster as it is about those NOS-fueled super machines.

Those cars are what drives this franchise and Fast Five figures to be no different. Just the way we like it.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Oh! I thought they are only featuring car commercial? Back to the movie, I have to agree that the cast doesn’t have a high level of performance. In fact, I don’t consider this film to have interesting storyline. However, what I like in this movie is Dom and the carssmiley

I don’t like Tokyo Drift, but I understand we have different opinions on the previous sequels. Storyline, action stunts, and the cars - I prefer the latest one. Better catch it today or else you’ll be missing the fun!

I must admit, I am getting a bit tired of the whole Fast and the Furious series. Don’t really know where the story is going. But then again, if only for those cars and chase scene, I will be more than willing to with this again.
