If you could pit one sports car and one luxury car to engage in a good old fashioned quarter-mile race, you couldn’t find a more unlikely pairing than a Nissan GT-R and a Bentley Continental Supersports.

That is, until you look at the tale of the tape. Then the stats will tell you that
despite the obvious disparities, these two cars are a lot more evenly-matched than you’d think. Consider for a second that the Bentley is half a ton heavier than the GT-R. On the other hand, it also puts out about 140 more horsepower – 621 to 485 - than Godzilla, so at the end of the day, the two car’s power-to-weight ratio rounds out to about 8lb/hp.

See how looks – and stats - can be misleading?

Motor Trend went through a lot of work to put these two cars up to the challenge and the result is…well…you have to watch it to find out.

Why not? I mean Godzilla was able to outran a Porsche in the Nurbugring circuit, why not outran a Bentley Continental Supersports? Lol. Well, even if it won, the Bentley seemed to have it at the first few seconds but after a long run, the GT-R still comes out on top. Well, this is on a drag race, it would be really interesting to see them on a race track wherein the Bentley could have edge on turns.

both car performs well and both are on AT transmission, i would appreciated the bout if they are both in manual tranny, well i guess GT-R is automatic due to weight distribution and the supersport is for luxury.

I’m also a GT-R fan and really thought at first that GT-R will make a run here. Bentley have the advantage on the initial acceleration shifting speed but the factor that GT-R win that race is the top speed of the car and Godzilla have that one.

For a moment there I thought that Godzilla was going to lose. The effect was obvious but that much, I mean half a ton more heavy and the results are as such. Then the extra horse power in the engine is not that helpful.

hell yeah.. GT-R is really a Muscle car and Exotic car busting machine. that’s was a lot of HP in difference but still the GT-R put some dirt on the Bently.
