Much like anything else in life, we all get a kick out of putting two cars together to see which one smokes the other, and while we’ve seen some pretty lopsided races in our time, we’ve also seen some nail-biters along the way.

The latest car duel our friends over at Motor Trend have done is between two cars that are not only fast and powerful, but they also have some pretty awesome nicknames, which makes this particular race that much more fun.

It’s the Nissan GT-R taking on the Shelby GT500 SS. Godzilla versus the Super Snake.

On one corner, you have the 412-horsepower GT-R taking on the 635-hp Super Snake. The numbers may be a bit skewed but we wouldn’t put it past Godzilla to devour the Super Snake on this one.

Check out the video to find out who won the ‘Beast Wars’.

the hp on the gtr is referencing to wheel horsepower which is the horsepower corrected for power loss due to drivetrain inefficiency. the car actually makes slightly more then 480 hp at the engine but its less at the wheel. and also the GTR would destroy the mustang on a circuit or road course any day. the car is designed for the racetrack

Maybe they haven’t removed the speed limit. Going back to the movie, i guess AWD is really an advantage in acceleration plus twin turbo chargers and computerized engine does help in winning over the GT500.

Wow, Godzilla made supersnake eat smoke. Lol. A muscle car lost to Godzilla. I think that the result can still change if the race goes to a circuit. If we give the point to GT-R for the drag race, I think we can still hope that Supersnake can still win in a circuit.

That’s why GT-R entitled as the "Godzilla" on the road. Well at first, I think the GT500 Super Snake will win it because of the power output of this car is way up ahead compare to the GT-R but I was wrong. Really impressive to beat a Super Snake and that effortless.

both cars are legend, a simple drag to find out who’s car is the best. American muscle or the Japanese Techy.

Snake was just swallowed by Godzilla. 635 is almost wreck the Dynomometer? haha winning is winning.... Super Snake’s just left behind.

It’s like Autobots and Decepticons by the way. On this battle, GT-R may be the underdog here having a 412hp to a Super Snake that have 635hp. But I don’t need to watch it because I know the winner of this race. Underdog wins!

I thought GT-R has 480 hp stock, why does go down to 412hp, that’s why GT-R is also called as the Ferrari of the Orient/Asia. Maybe some Computer geeks hack its computer system and bringing it down to 412, and its purpose is to give chance to the GT500. We all know that GT-R is the tightest competitor of Porsche 911 turbo.

why did the GT-R only have 412 hp? shouldn’t it have 480hp? unless they de-tuned it on purpose to give the super snake a chance. im really glad the gt-r won, it just proves that all muscle cars are overrated in terms of performance, no matter how powerful.
