The dragster, which was being driven by Steve Gasparelli, hit a patch of oil as soon as it launched at the start line sending spinning out of control and slamming into a steel barrier where Willsheer was standing just inches away.
Amazingly, the photographer barely moved from his spot while snapping away at the flying dragster. As far as Gasparelli is concerned, he managed to escape the crash unscathed, which we’re pretty happy about.
But Wilsheer takes our kudos here for continuing his job despite a dragster headed straight towards him.
