Video: Porsche 911 GT2 RS on board camera

Walter Rohrl, the famous German rally and auto racing driver, got behind the wheel of a new Porsche GT2 RS and did what he knows best; he pushed it to its limit! Thanks to an in-car camera, you’ll be able to see just how it would look if you were to be riding passenger while the Porsche was taken for a little ride.

The new GT2 RS is a more powerful and lighter model compared to a standard GT2. Porsche managed to reduce the weight by 154 lb and upgrade the engine’s output with 90 HP (for a total of 620 HP). This makes the RS sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, 0 to 124 mph in just 9.8 seconds, and 0 to 186 mph in 28.9 seconds. Top speed is 205 mph. The sports car also delivers a power-to-weight ratio of 4.9 lb per horsepower and has a reported Nurburgring time of seven minutes and 18 seconds.

Love the descriptions from people that drive this thing ("violent", "raw", etc). Must be a purely primal experience. Wonder how many of the 500 will really be pushed like this and used the way it was meant to be.

Balance is a term used to describe handling characteristics. Neutral, Oversteer, Understeer. What does the car do at the limit. This is why it’s smart to count to 10 before you deride someone.

I think this thing would be at the top of my bucket list. I’ve only driven a 911 turbo so I can’t imagine how much more fun this could be but if I had to go, it would be maxing this thing out with a big "oh sh!t" grin on my face.

this is an awesome car, but comparing it to the 599 gto... don’t get ahead of yourself.

If they LFA was the exact price as this I would choose it over this anyday....or If i had the money both would be in my garage. Not to mention the LFA will be 5x more rare and more of a sight to behold due to the fact its a Lexus super-car...this Porsche looks like every other damn one before it. If a non car person see this he or she wont know which model Porsche this is and will see it in the same light as the rest of the lineup..the LFA looks expensive, sounds expensive, looks exotic. Park the LFA will take all interest away from it.

That’s cool, I think this might become a blackbox for cars.
