Video: Porsche hopes to celebrate 50th anniversary of 1960 Sebring win with a victory this weekend

The 12 Hours of Sebring is set to kick-off this weekend and Porsche is doing more than its fair share in terms of car preparations in time for the start of the endurance race.

This year’s Sebring race has a special meaning for the Stuttgart-based brand because this year marks the 50th anniversary of Hans Hermann’s triumphant Sebring win on-board a 1960 Porsche RS60. If Porsche is looking to repeat that hallmark performance - and defend their title in the process - they’re going to have some pretty stiff competition this year, most notably from series rival Corvette.

The Corvettes are not the only competition this year as as there are some pretty neat racers and cars with BMW as well. I do hope that I can watch the highlights soon as I don’t really want to watch the whole thing as for sure that I will fall asleep or something.
