The Porsche->ke1 Type 64's journey from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta culminated in the opening of the museum's new exhibit, the "Allure of the Automobile".

Regarded as the standard-bearer for which all future Porsche models have since been based on, the Type 64 - the only one of its kind in the world - highlighted a dazzling automotive exhibit that features classic cars from a wide range of manufacturers that were all built during the industry's so-called 'Golden Age'.

It goes without saying that every Porsche you see on the road today was based on this one car, which makes it all the more important to the history of the Porsche brand. As a matter of fact, the folks from Stuttgart value the Type 64 so much that this exhibit in Atlanta is actually the first time the Type 64 has ever left Germany.

Check out the video for a brief primer of the exhibit and take a good look at the car that started it all for Porsche. If you're in the area until the 20th of June, we highly suggest you make time to go to the High Museum of Art. You won't be disappointed.
