Video: Red Bull’s X-Fighters Tournament takes center stage

The Red Bull X-Fighters Tournament brings together some of the world’s premier freestyle motocross riders in the ultimate FMX competition and as such, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to show you FMX nuts out there a glimpse of what the X-Fighters Tournament is all about.

In the first video, we have Red Bull’s London leg of the X-Fighters Tournament, featuring the best bikers from all over the world doing what they do best: the spills, the thrills, and the pulse-pounding, adrenaline action. The stunts they perform are ridiculously unbelievable and while some didn’t fare quite as well as the others, there’s still no shortage of action and excitement when the X-Fighters Tournament comes flying along. And oh, the video even features a cameo of the Red Bull’s Formula One car doing some impressive sand burnouts!

Continued after the jump

The second video is an interview with Eigo Sato, who at 31, is considered as the oldest member of the X-Fighters tournament. In the interview, Sato talks about his Japanese roots, the challenges that he continually faces in a sport that is defined by high-risk, and what lies ahead of him when he does decide to hang up his helmet and tuck-in his bike.

All in all, the videos are a fascinating look on how the X-Fighters Tournament is becoming increasingly more popular these days, and in a time where extreme sports are fast entering the mainstream, the X-Fighters is as good a reminder to everyone just how action-packed and adrenaline-pumping the sport is.

Some days ago I was watching a similar tournament and I was trying to remember on how they used to do stunts before compared to what they can do now. Everything comes with a twist and an extra turn. Before it was only a backflip, now there is a double backflip, is there a triple flip though? I always imagined back then on how great it would be if I can be one of those stars, but, after a few accidents with the bike, I don’t think I’ll be seeing that dream... lol. Better be stuck with video games about it instead of trying it out on my own.
