Hyundai->ke201 is taking a big-screen blockbuster approach in its next advertisement for the all-new 2015 Genesis->ke2924 sedan. The short, nine-minute film takes an unusual approach to vehicle advertising in making the story more about the people within the storyline, while the Genesis plays a less major role.

The luxury sedan->ke505 still gets its moments in the spotlight in several scenes, including the use of its proximity key and automatic truck release, along with some intense driving scenes.

The short film is directed and produced by a new generation of filmmakers, the 20-something millennials who embrace new technologies and ways of doing the impossible through computer animation. Though the graphics get a little cheesy at times, the overall film showcases the Genesis pretty well. It’s reminiscent of what BMW->ke178 did more than a decade ago with its short series of films showcasing several of its vehicles.

Hyundai’s theatrical plot circles around a man and his sick wife and a mysterious doctor who is running some unorthodox testing. As it turns out, the husband must use his 2015 Hyundai Genesis to save the girl and defeat the evildoers without being taken out first.

Turns out the Genesis makes a pretty good get-away car.

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At "The Genesis" Short Film

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan

The Genesis is all-new for 2015 with a completely revised chassis made from lightweight aluminum and an entirely new appearance, both inside and out. Directed at the BMW 5-Series->ke317 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Genesis has a lot to prove, but it packs quite a punch in nearly every department.

Under its hood lies one of two powertrains: the base, 3.8-liter V-6 making 311 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque, or the powerful, 5.0-liter V-8 making a stout 420 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Genesis comes standard with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive is optional, but only with the V-6.

Pricing for the 2015 Hyundai Genesis starts at $38,000 for the V-6 and $51,500 for the V-8.
