There’s no doubt that the BMW logo is one of the most famous in the world. There is no one out there - child or old man - that does not recognize the white and blue logo. That being said, have you ever wondered about its origin? Yeah, we really haven’t either, but apparently BMW’s in house automobile historian thought it was something that needed to be researched and explained to the public.

It’s interesting, albeit completely irrelevant, to know that the logo first appeared in 1917 and, despite your expectations, was inspired by the movement of an aircraft propeller (watch the video to see exactly how). And even if it is almost 100 years old, the logo remains mostly unchanged! That’s just amazing - pretty much a complete waste of time - but it does seem to be some sort of sign of success, don’t you think?

So that’s the origin of the Blue and white logo of the BMW. I thought it was a blue checkered flag of racing. Well that was a lovely and very educating Trivia from BMW.
