Have a hard time forming your own opinion or perhaps just want to know what other people think? Well this video->ke278 is for you. Europe’s What Car? pulled in a handful of avid Miata->ke1185 owners to give the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 a once-over. The questions spanned the typical gambit of exterior styling and interior features to what attracts them to the car, what they thought about the weight savings, and what they didn’t like about the car.

More than anything, we get to see close-in footage of the MX-5 from nearly every angle.

While not trying to spoil the video, all the folks had generally positive things to say about the car. Things like, “back to its roots” and “a lot more cozy inside” were thrown about. Not everybody was completely happy with the car’s new looks. One commenter said the trunk area was oddly shaped and the rear bumper was too bulbus. Can’t please everybody it seems.

The video is short and is generally entertaining. Be sure to check out more information on the new MX-5 below the jump.

Mazda MX-5

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is perhaps this generation’s most iconic two-seater roadsters. It combines a peppy engine, a low curb weight, and a willing suspension for a great boulevard cruiser and weekend track toy.

The MX-5 is completely new for 2016. It comes with a new Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine mated to either a manual or automatic gearbox with rear-wheel-drive. Mazda hasn’t release horsepower numbers yet, but we suspect it will produce around 170 ponies, given the automaker's claim that the engine is tuned specifically for the Miata.

Pricing should stick close to the current car’s sticker, starting around $24,000 and going north from there.
