Car enthusiasts all over the world have been enthralled by the Fast & Furious franchise and have wished to own at least one of the iconic vehicles driven by its main protagonists, like Paul Walker's (Brian O'Conner) Toyota Supra.

How the Build came about

In addition to the iconic Supra, Dominic Toretto and his companions drove a variety of automobiles in the movies, Dom has his iconic Dodge Charger, Leon in his Nissan Skyline GT-R R33, Jessie in the Volkswagen Jetta, and Vince in the Nissan Maxima.

In conjunction with the debut of the highly-anticipated Fast and Furious 9 film, Dominic Dubreuil from Quebec, Canada, recently decided to officially unveil his replica; Vince's Nissan Maxima from the first film in the series.

On his YouTube channel, where he is widely recognized as Dom Dub, he has previously created replicas of the Mitsubishi Eclipse that O'Conner drives in the film, as well as Jessie's white Volkswagen Jetta.

The Mods

Dubreuil decided to go ahead with the Maxima build after polling his YouTube and Instagram followers back in the summer of 2019.

With a few exceptions, this particular Maxima is a replica made almost according to the film car specs. Craig Lieberman, a technical advisor on the original Fast and Furious film production team and the owner of the original Maxima, also collaborated on this project.

Under the hood is a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 260 horsepower, according to Lieberman.

Look closely and you'll find that the Bomex S14 body kit is identical to the Maxima S14 body kit. Even things not displayed on the big screen, such as a helmet in a bag and the mobilizer, are notable additions and welcome touches.

Inside, all of the film cars elements, such as the blue suede upholstery, can be seen. The sound system received a lot of attention as well. The Clarion unit, the screen in the headrests, and, of course, the incredible JBL audio all add up.

The HKS boost gauge and supercharger indicator in the center console cupholder position are something Dubreuil added to the Maxima that Vince's original car lacked.

To Sum It Up

Dom Dubs Nissan Maxima is the culmination of several months of hard work, but the effort was well worth it, as evidenced by these pictures. Unfortunately, the pandemic has hindered the presentation of this sweet ride with the likes of Matt Schulze, the actor who played Vince in the film, and Craig Lieberman, the original Maxima owner.

Dubreuil claims that he selected associates and components from all over the world to help him build this Maxima. He now plans to take this Maxima on a tour around Canada and the United States once the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions ease.
