Spotted in Test at the Nurburgring

Our spies have the latest spy shots of the next-generation Golf VII test mule at the Nürburgring Northloop circuit, after the Golf renderings previously revealed on TopSpeed

The 2013 MkVII Golf chassis sits underneath this vehicle and is the MQB platform which will be used on the VW Sharan and the Audi S3. As a reminder, the MQB platform will serve as the platform for all of VW’s small to midsized transverse-engined family cars as part of their ten year plan for all of their vehicles to adopt one of four platforms.

There is no detailing for the VW Golf on display apart from the flared arches hidden under the camouflage and there are no differences in the interior.

We expect this mule to begin stripping away its camouflage to reveal more details throughout the year as it is still in the Franken build stage of development. We also expect to see an R32 variant which could be used in an uplifted version of the 2.5 liter 5 cylinder turbocharged engine as seen in the TTRS, to compete with the Ford Focus RS and the Renault Megane Sport 250.

Nice shots spies! Just kidding. How did you took this photo secretly? I can imagine these guys hanging on the walls or climbing up the high trees. Too much for imagination, I extremely like the exteriors, Did you took videos as well?

Not sure I’m ready to hand over $34K plus dealer premiums to this VW.

Surely those silly wheels are too big to be any kind of performance upgrade? The 330PS is of course. I wonder how much power you’d need to do really small-radius AWD donuts in that car?

How about it’s top speed there are no words of it.

I doubt! There is no face-lift done here, they aimed for the performance of the Golf to compete with focus and meganne.

The Mk6 was more of a facelift than a new generation so it is due an uplift.

Cool hatch! A way far more quiet and comfortable than it’s Japanese rival Mazdaspeed 3.

I think its only been eight months since the Mk VI Golf went on sale in Europe but it seems that the Volkswagen is already busy testing the next generation model. I think this unit will due on sale in 2012.

I doubt, having a high sales on car is depend on which country it’ll be distributed but for me I’ll go for the Focus has more space than the Golf.

Hmm for sure many will pick the golf rather than the focus. They’ve maybe have the same performance but the looks way differ.
