Volkswagen named "best of the best"
Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced it has been named “Best of the Best” by “Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” annual survey. The automotive manufacturer was selected from more than 1,100 applicants across southeastern Michigan. The announcement was made at an awards luncheon sponsored by the Michigan Business and Professional Association and the National Association for Business Resources.
“Team members need to feel engaged in their work environment,” said Mike Beamish, executive director of human resources, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “Our people are our most valued asset. When given the tools to make the necessary decisions and solve challenges, they are more creative, productive and generally have a greater sense of empowerment and ownership of their careers.”
Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest identifies Southeast Michigan’s most desirable employers using survey data based on the following criteria: Communication, Diversity & Multi-Culturalism, Work-Life Balance, Recognition & Retention, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment & Selection, Employee Engagement & Commitment, Community Initiatives, and Employee Education & Development.
After being identified as one of the area’s 101 Best, judges further analyze applications in search of above average programs, services and solutions for employees, unique and creative though processes with support from senior management ad policy makers. Companies with the highest scores in each of the above stated categories are honored with an “elite” status in their respective category. To achieve the “Best of the Best” title, Volkswagen scored the highest overall points in each of the “elite” categories.
