For the life of us, we dont know what’s gotten into some of these manufacturers and their seemingly growing obsession with infusing some form of variety show elements into a car launch. The recent launch of Volkswagen’s New Compact Coupe hybrid at the Detroit Motor Show certainly didn’t lack in flash and pizazz after a group of dancers did their best dance crew impersonation leading up to the official unveiling of Volkswagen’s new hybrid coupe.

Don’t get us wrong; we advocate flamboyant car launches and the ostentatious buzz it creates. It’s just that we find the whole dance routine a little ’pop-ish’ and not something that anybody would associate with VW’s new Compact Coupe. Forgive us; but we may just have been permanently scarred by the horrendous Chevy Volt Song and Dance routine.

Could have been better if you posted the video, so we can sympathize with your rant. I would love to see dancers around a car, as long as their hot, sexy and beautiful.

what the heck! Is there a dance competition for cars to have a dance number to launch a new car. I don’t see at any point why they’re doing that thing. It kinda scared me a bit that maybe there’s a concept car where you need to dance to start up your car.
