If it’s not released stateside they are missing a chance to pick up customers who don’t like the boxiness of the GTI. Besides the fact that they could offer this with a full glass or panorama sunroof, different interior colors (besides black and atrocious plaid), 7sp DSG/6MT, 2.0T FWD (230hp)/2.5T Quattro AWD (280-300hp), real sport tuned suspension, and price it $21K base/$25K-$27K top line model. Usually VW prices cars out of existence, so most people just pass them up for what they offer. The question is, "Why bring back the Phaeton (which no one really cared for or is willing to pay for) & not bring over a car most people would love to be seen in?"
