The Volkswagen Tiguan will receive a number of minor powertrain upgrades beginning next month. For the upgraded versions, Volkswagen is releasing a 2.0-liter TDI inline-four diesel engine with 110-horsepower that will be priced lower than the previous diesel variant. Similarly, a 121-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI will also be offered for those who prefer to use a gasoline engine instead of a diesel variant.
In addition to that, both types will also be given seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmissions and will also use Volkswagen’s unique Bluemotion technology in an effort to curb fuel consumption and become more fuel-efficient. Lastly, Volkswagen will also be giving the crossover a new keyless access and push-button start/stop feature.

Two new engines and seven-speed DSG in the offer program

Wolfsburg, 07 May 2010 - The most successful SUV Germany changed with new technical highlights of the model year 2011: So the Volkswagen Tiguan in early June with 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the keyless locking and starting system "Keyless Access" and two new environmentally friendly engines available. He plans to expand its leading position in the market.

With a segment share of 30 percent, the Tiguan was already in 2009, successfully argue against its competitors and is now presenting to with wide range of enhancements, including two new powerful and fuel-efficient entry-aggregates: Sun completes the new model year the 2.0 l TDI Blue Motion Technology (81 kW / 110 HP, from 26 050 €), the diesel price downwards. A little later followed with the 1.4 l TSI Blue Motion Technology (90kW/122 PS), the new entry-level engine. Then Germany’s most popular compact SUV available at prices starting from € 24 175. Both engines are offered exclusively as a front-wheel drive variants.

Another product highlight in the Tiguan is the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. For model year all previous automatic variants of this innovative and efficient transmission to be changed. Similarly, the keyless locking and starting system "Keyless Access is complementary to the offer program.

Tiguan special "freestyle" to - based on the Tiguan Trend & Fun with extensive standard sizes such as alloy wheels, light and sight package, fog lamps and Park Pilot. The Tiguan "Freestyle" with Blue Motion Technology will start at 24 925 € (1,4 l TSI 90kW / 122 hp) and offers customers a price advantage of up to € 1,610.
