Throughout its development, the Aston Martin Valkyrie was known internally as the “Nebula,” a fitting moniker considering the hypercar's otherworldly speed potential and performance specs. Now, one lucky owner is taking the association to the next level by adding Moon dust to the equation.

In a recent post to Instagram, user lamborghiniks proclaimed “I have sourced, gotten proper verification, and purchased an actual Rock from the Moon which will be ground to dust and used as a key ingredient in Karosserie Lunar Red which will be the color of my Aston Martin Valkyrie.” Apparently, lamborghiniks also enjoys a variety of other exotics in his garage, including a Koenigsegg Agera XS, Pagani Huayra BC, and Lamborghini Veneno.

It's an interesting idea, and certainly unique, but it makes us wonder what effect (if any) the Moon dust will have on the Valkyrie's appearance. In fact, lamborghiniks is gonna need a pretty sizable chunk of the stuff to even see it show up on the body panels at all. But at least he's not painting it in some obnoxious gold flake or chrome wrap, right?

As a reminder, the Aston Martin Valkyrie reaches escape velocity by way of a hybrid, naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 tuned by Cosworth to produce upwards of 1,130 horsepower. Output is routed through a seven-speed Ricardo dual-clutch automatic, while the hybrid is a KERS-style system from Rimac. At just 1,030 kg (2,271 pounds), the Valkyrie manages a power-to-weight ratio better than the 'ole one-to-one figure. It's also got some pretty serious aero, but that doesn't really apply on the Moon. Unless you count solar wind.
