It's been more than a year since the McLaren Artura was announced, but it is only now that the supercar is making its North American debut. In fact, it made its debut in style, with Bruno Senna popping its cherry. Yes, Ayrton Senna's nephew has taken some hot laps in the supercar around the brand-new Miami GP circuit.

McLaren has hopes that the North American market will become the largest market for the Artura when deliveries begin in July 2022.

The circuit measures 3.36 miles and features 19 corners, three straights, and elevation changes. Bruno, of course, was offered plenty of opportunities to fully exploit the handling and performance of the Artura. And, he seems to have really enjoyed the experience.

How couldn't he when the Artura is such an amazing car? Also referred to as McLaren’s first-ever series-production High-Performance Hybrid (HPH) supercar, the car ditched the V-8 engine in favor of a hybrid powertrain. It combines a twin-turbocharged V-6 petrol engine that delivers 577 horsepower and 431 pound-feet of torque with a compact axial flux E-motor, located within the transmission bell housing that adds another 94 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. As a result, the Artura delivers a combined output of 671 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and has a maximum speed of 205 mph

“It was truly amazing to be able to push the McLaren Artura around this dynamic and free-flowing new Grand Prix circuit in the heart of Miami. The Artura is a car that keeps on giving, especially on a track; it’s smooth and refined but with an aggressive edge that is just waiting to be discovered as you utilize the E-motor combined with the powerful V6 engine. It’s predictable and fun – the perfect ride for a Grand Prix weekend.”
