The Mercedes-AMG A45 S is one of the hottest hatches from the factory that you can buy today. It can give even some supercars a run for their money. With a sub-four-second 0-60 mph time, the AMG A45 S is undoubtedly a beast on the track.

The folks at Carwow recently pit it against the BMW M3-rivalling sedan, Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio. Although it seems like a mismatch at the onset, it made for quite an interesting race.

How Much Power Do They Make?

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It makes 421 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque. It features an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and the famed 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. It takes 3.9 seconds to hit the 60 mph mark from a standstill and has a top speed of 168 mph. The car weighs 3,605 pounds.

Coming to the Alfa Romero Giulia Quadrifoglio, it features a Ferrari-derived V-6, twin-turbo engine under the hood that displaces at 2.9 liters. The engine churns out 505 ponies and 443 pound-feet of twist. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The car takes just 3.8 seconds to sprint to 60 mph and has a top speed of 191 mph. It is around 250 pounds lighter than the A45 S and weighs just 3,360 pounds.
