The rivalry between the three Germans can never end. Be it any segment or niche, they are waiting to rain on each other’s parades. This time, it’s on a drag strip, courtesy of Carwow. The Audi RS5, BMW M4 Competition, and the AMG C63 S competed against one another in a series of races to determine who the king is when it comes to straight-line dashes. Who have you got your money on?

Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Fastest Of Them All?

Cheesy heading aside, let’s see how much power each of them makes. The Audi RS5 is powered by a 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 450 horses and 443 pound-feet of twist. An eight-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels. It comes with a Launch Control as well. It weighs in at 3,780 pounds, making it around 30 pounds lighter than both its rivals. It is the quickest of the three, taking just 3.7 seconds to 60 mph.

The BMW M4 Competition comes with a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that churns out 510 horses and 479 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox with Launch Control. The M4 takes 4.1 seconds to sprint to 60 mph from rest and has a top speed of 155 mph, unless opted with the M Driver’s package that unlocks the top speed to 180 mph. It weighs around 3,810 pounds.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 features the biggest engine of the lot – a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 mill that dishes out 510 ponies and 516 pound-feet of twist. All the oomph hits the ground through the rear wheels. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It takes 3.9 seconds to 60 mph from rest and comes with Launch Control. It weighs the same as the BMW M4 Competition.

Can The Paper Specs Translate To Real World?

The Audi RS5 is the lightest despite the all-wheel-drive system and is also the quickest to 60 mph. But, the C63 S and the M4 Competition are no slouches either. The former has a V-8 engine and the best power outputs here. We won’t be spoiling the result for you, but all the cars had their spots to shine. The straight-line race had something to do with the damp patch on one side and it affected the car driving on it. In the rolling races, however, there was one clear winner all three times. As for the brake test, the V-8 Mercedes lost while it was a close call between the BMW and the Audi.
