Lamborghini Huracan EVO or the Huracan Performante: this question gave a lot of potential Lamborghini owners a headache. While one is newer and comes with an updated interior, the other one is quicker to hit the 200 mph mark and is lighter, too. The host of this video was in this boat but purchased the EVO over the Performante for a variety of reasons. But, he decided to pit the beast against a Performante to see how it fares. Which exotic model do you think would’ve won?

The EVO and Performante Feature The Same Engine And Specs

Both, Huracan Performante and the EVO feature a 5.2-liter, V-10 engine that churns out 630 horses and 443 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Both of them are also in stock condition, but wear different rubber. The 2020 EVO rides on Toyo R888R tires, whereas the 2018 Performante is shod in Pirelli P Zeros. The biggest difference here is that the Performante is 88 pounds lighter than the 3,135-pound Huracan EVO.

Huracan EVO For The Win

You would expect an inconclusive result given how identical both these cars are, but as it turns out, the heavier EVO beat the Performante on the drag strip. In the first race, the Performante completed the quarter-mile race in 10.7 seconds, but the EVO finished it in 10.5 seconds.

The second race was won by the Performante, but it seemed like the driver jumper at the starting line. In the third race, the EVO smoked the Performante and touched the finish line almost 0.4 seconds quicker. While the EVO won here, we think the track’s dampness and the tires could have played a part in the result.

These Numbers Are Insane

The ‘Dragy’ stats were also uploaded for the Huracan EVO. It sprints to 60 mph from rest in 2.74 seconds and completed the quarter-mile distance in 10.49 seconds with a trap speed of 131.22 mph. As for the Performante, it took 3.24 seconds to 60 mph and finished the quarter-mile distance in 10.78 seconds with a trap speed of 131.21 mph. Notice the identical top speed here? The Performante swung sideways at the start and that seems to be the reason for the slower 0-60 mph time.
