The Maserati MC20 has been unveiled earlier in 2020, but it's not yet available at local dealerships. That's because the Italian firm is still testing its latest supercar. And thanks to YouTuber Varryx, we can see the MC20 lapping the Fiorano race track, the place where Ferrari is usually testing supercars. The footage also shows the MC20 doing power slides, which is proof that the Italian supercar should provide loads of fun.

Unveiled in September 2020 and set to go into production in 2021, the MC20 is Maserati's first flagship sports car since the MC12 was discontinued in 2005. Although touted as a successor to the mighty MC12, the MC20 is an entirely different car. It's not as exclusive, it will be notably more affordable (but it will still cost more than $200,000), and it features a twin-turbo V-6 engine instead of a naturally aspirated V-12.

But there are some similarities between them. The engine was co-developed with Ferrari and the MC20 will mark Maserati's return to racing, just like the MC12 did almost 20 years ago. An all-electric version of the MC20 is also planned.

Based on its power and torque figures, the MC20 will slot somewhere below the Ferrari F8 Tributo and McLaren 720S and above the Lamborghini Huracan on the entry-level supercar market. But enough talk, let's see what the MC20 is capable of on the race track.
