• Watch The Ram TRX and The Ford F-150 Raptor Come Face-to-Face In This Four-Way Drag Race

This is arguably the most anticipated battle of the two monstrous pickup trucks

LISTEN 03:13

It is always fun to see big, bulky trucks ripping the roads in a straight line. There are numerous videos online where you can find any combination of two trucks going up against each other. But, the one that you wouldn’t have seen so far and is arguably the most-anticipated war is the Ram 1500 TRX versus the Ford F-150 Raptor. However, this, too, is ticked off the list, thanks to the folks at TFLTrucks. The guys brought together the two behemoths on a drag strip along with the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the Ram Rebel. Who are you rooting for?

How Are The Trucks Spec’d?

Of the four rivals, there are two puny trucks (in this context, at least), and two powerhouses. The Chevy Silverado 1500 seen here is the Trailboss trim with a 5.3-liter engine. It makes 355 ponies and 383 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The 2020 Ram Rebel is powered by a 5.7-liter, V-8 HEMI mill that dishes out 395 horses and 410 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Under the hood of the Ford F-150 Raptor is a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost mill that churns out 450 horses and 510 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. This one takes 5.5 seconds to sprint to 60 mph and has a top speed of 107 mph. It takes 13.8 seconds to complete a quarter-mile run.

Finally, there’s the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, powered by a 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 HEMI Hellcat engine that produces 702 horses and 650 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed transmission. It takes 4.5 seconds to hit the 60 mph mark from a standstill and has a top speed of 118 mph. It even comes with a Launch Control to aid perfect straight-line launches. Ram had reported that the beast completes the quarter-mile run in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph.

Why Not Make It A Raptor vs TRX Race?

The TFL crew made this a knockout tournament of sorts. The Rebel would face the Trailboss in the first match. The winner of that round gets a shot against the Ford F-150 Raptor, and, the winner of this race would go on to face the “Quickest, Fastest and Most Powerful Mass-produced Truck in the World.”

Well, it’s almost a given that the F-150 Raptor and the Ram TRX will face each other in the final round and we also know that the Ram TRX is the assured winner; in theory at least. But, can the Raptor pull an upset victory? Well, no spoilers here, so watch the video for yourself and find out.
