Orchestrated by Hennessey Performance at its Pennzoil Proving Ground, this drag race between the F8 Tributo and a 765LT might be short, yet it’s just the right dose of supercar radness.

These two supercars are both deadly quick on a racetrack and as you are about to see, on the drag strip, too. Regardless of which one you pick, you can bet that performance will be delivered through and through. However, the Macca has the upper hand here due to its firepower.

In the 765LT, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 cranks out 755 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 590 pound-feet of twist at 5,500 rpm. The rear wheels are spun by a seven-speed dual clutch.

The F8 Tributo is no slouch, either. It is also blessed with a twin-turbo V-8, but it displaces 3.9 liters and makes 710 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 568 pound-feet of torque at 3,250 rpm. Every ounce of oomph gets sent to the rear axle through a seven-speed auto.

Other than the power and torque advantage, the McLaren has another ace up its sleeve: weight. At 2,952 pounds, the 765LT is lighter than the 3,164-pound F8 Tributo.

With everything thrown into the drag equation, what you get - or more precisely, what the Ferrari gets - is a proper beatdown.
