Sam from Sam CarLegion got two big beasts on the strip for a couple of drag races. The participants included the Land Rover Defender and the Ram TRX
Both the vehicles are powered by a supercharged V-8 engine
The Land Rover Defender displaces five liters and makes 518 horses and 461 pound-feet of torque
The Ram TRX features a 6.2-liter, Hellcat mill that churns out 702 ponies and 650 pound-feet of twist
Both the vehicles are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels
The first round was a standing drag race with the vehicles in their sportiest settings. The TRX sprinted off the line and stayed ahead the entire time. It didn’t give the Defender even the slightest chance to get past it
The second round was a roll race from 31 mph. It looked like the Defender could have an edge here, since it is lighter. But, that wasn’t the case. The TRX was quicker right from kickdown and kept widening the gap till it touched the finish line
That’s two wins for the TRX without breaking a sweat. And, mind you, the Defender is not a slouch by any means. Swipe up to watch the video and read more about the race
